Your song is going to live on Spotify next to tracks mastered by names with decades behind them. The loudness race is over , Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube all normalise playback , but the character of a master still decides whether people turn it up or skip after six seconds. Our job at the Berlin mastering studio is to make sure yours gets the turn-up, not the skip.

Every master starts with a listening pass against three genre references you supply. From there: corrective EQ to un-hype the problem frequencies, gentle multiband glue to lock drums and bass together, targeted saturation for weight on the low mids, limiting aimed at −14 LUFS-I integrated for streaming. ISP-safe ceilings, no inter-sample peaks. You get 16-bit / 44.1 kHz masters for streaming plus 24-bit / 48 kHz originals for sync and YouTube, all in one delivery folder , DDP with ISRC codes on request for CD or vinyl pre-master projects.

The one thing we won't do is crush the life out of the record. If the mix comes in already limiter-mangled, we'll tell you , usually the fix is one five-minute mix revision that opens up twenty seconds of headroom, and the master sounds measurably better for it. Mastering isn't magic; it's the last disciplined pass on a song that's already mixed well, and we'd rather push back on a mix than pretend a ceiling-clipped source can still breathe.

Seventeen years behind the console, multi-platform releases, genres ranging from pop and singer-songwriter to rap, electronic and cinematic scoring. The Berlin mastering suite is his room , same ears, same monitors, same reference library on every project.

Why that matters for mastering specifically: consistency. If you're releasing a five-song EP over six months, every track goes out with the same loudness target, the same top-end character, the same bass control. No "this one sounds weirdly quiet" messages from your distributor.

Default delivery targets: Spotify / Apple Music / Tidal / Amazon Music / YouTube Music , all streaming platforms with LUFS-normalised playback. Secondary: Bandcamp and SoundCloud (no normalisation, they get the hotter version if you want one). Dance-focused artists routinely get a second "club" master at -9 LUFS for DJ sets and vinyl pressing; we deliver both in one folder.

Every master ships as: 16-bit / 44.1 kHz WAV for streaming distributors, 24-bit / 48 kHz WAV for sync and video, 320 kbps MP3 for quick sharing, and , on request , DDP 2.0 image with ISRC codes embedded (for CD duplication), or flat 24-bit / 96 kHz for vinyl pre-master. Metadata stays clean: no generic "Untitled track 01", everything tagged with release title, artist, ISRC and track number.

Mastering in Berlin , frequently asked questions

Standard stereo mastering starts at 50 € per song. Stem mastering from 100 €. Full EP / album rates drop to 40 € per song for 5+ tracks. All quotes include 1-2 revision rounds.

Export 24-bit / 48 kHz WAV, no limiter on the master bus, no dither, peak around −6 dBFS. Leave 1-2 seconds of silence at the head and 2-3 seconds of decay at the tail. If you used bus compression for the vibe, leave it , just pull the limiter off.

Default is -14 LUFS integrated for streaming (Spotify / Apple Music normalisation target). For electronic and rap we often push to -10 / -9 LUFS and accept the slight streaming turn-down. On request we'll deliver two versions , streaming and a louder "club" master.

Yes. Stem mastering gives more control , ideal if the mix is close but one element (kick, vocal, bass) needs individual treatment. Usual stem split: drums, bass, music, vocals. Send a rough stereo too as reference.

Single-song mastering: 2-3 working days. Full EP / album: 5-7 working days. Rush (24-48h) available with a 30 % surcharge , send the brief with the release date and we'll confirm.

Yes , most of our mastering work is on mixes from other studios. We'll let you know before starting if anything in the mix will fight the mastering stage (excessive saturation, stuck low-end) and give options.

No. The studio is Nikita Bogdanov's private shop and mastering stays in-house , that's the whole point of the room, a single set of trusted ears on every release. We're not bringing on outside mastering engineers and there's no roster plan. The only opening is educational: if you're a younger engineer wanting to learn the stage, you can write to us about shadowing or mentorship and we'll respond when capacity allows. Nothing commercial, purely teaching.
